Reflection for Discussion 1

I learned several things from the discussion held on 21st century skills. The first is to stop and think about the many 21st skills that many teachers are already teaching without even realizing it. For example when we teach about ways to help save the Earth we are teaching the students to be global citizens. I also learned that many of the 21st century skill can easily be adopted into current curriculum. The skills just need to be brought to the attention of teachers. The discussion did lead me to realize that a lot of work could be done to emphasize the development of many of these skills. My frustration in the discussion was that there were too many stands of discussion going on. At times I wished that everyone could be involved on just 2 or three discussions because it is difficult to catch all of them and I felt some discussions could have been further developed if more people had viewed them.
